I can’t get too upset.
WE ELECTED THEM.
And we continue to re-elect them.
Not sure why we should be upset at anyone but ourselves.
Pigs feed at the trough. That’s what they do. It is the nature of the beast. If you don’t shoo the pigs away from time to time, they’ll just keep feeding and feeding.
I’m quite satisfied that as a country, we have the government we deserve. |

I’d be willing to pay them five times what they make if they would do two things: first, limit their legislative sessions to two weeks a year and make those two weeks during the hottest mosquito-ridden two weeks of the summer, and, second, that they throw Harry Reid under the bus, literally. |

The problem came from over twenty five years of increasing budget deficits, an unsustainable current accounts deficit (cheap foreign goods), and what was in essence a "fake" economy. The rebalancing we’re experiencing was inevitable, and it will force us to accept a less materialist, lower standard of living. Reality bites.

We’re in a different world now. And it’ll be years before we start getting out of this. I don’t think that’s really hit home to most people yet. As a society we consumed, but didn’t produce. Unless a society is productive, it can’t prosper.
