Another gun law success
Posted by: McQ on Thursday, January 01, 2009

You've probably heard of this. It was apparently triggered by the Israeli strikes against Hamas:
A gunman wounded two Israelis working at a packed central Denmark shopping mall Wednesday, Danish police said.

The two wounded men are Israelis in their 20s, police spokesman Lars Thede said. He said it was too early to speculate on whether they were targeted because of their nationality.

One of the wounded was shot in the arm and the other in the leg, police said. Their condition is unclear.

What is clear, unsurprisingly, is that Denmark's gun laws were ineffective.

If I were the ones that were shot I would sue the city, the mall, and everyone concerned for hate crimes. Seriously put the liberals own crap back on them.

From Google results, supposedly Denmark prohibits all private ownership of firearms. Other countries in Europe have stringent gun ownership laws as most well know This summer I traveled all over the Baltic countries and Scandinavia and saw that the major cities are very diverse with a large population from overwhelming Muslim regions, the "worse" being Amsterdam. My talking to two New Zealander sisters about our America gun culture really alarmed and upset an older Dutch couple having dinner with us. I guess they expected me to whip out some heat if I objected to the sisters’ positions on frirearms; sheep for the slaughter it seems to me. And our betters want that for us.

I live in a very rural area with NO police protection other than the State Police looking for speeders. While we don’t rank high enough in population to matter in most people’s minds, the past several years our crime problems have exploded. We finally got a small bank last year and it was robbed within a week as has two nearby banks. Break-ins are too commonplace and many locals are now installing security systems as will I; no more unlocked doors and cars now. I now keep a 9 mm in the country kitchen since kicking in doors, whether unoccupied or not, is gaining in acceptance by the criminal element. Since Mr. Obama some years ago expressed his opposition to being armed to defend your home and family and with the liberal Democratic control of congress, we may become sheep as well in the not too distant future. Even my much more liberal Democratic registered wife has asked me if I don’t need to buy more ammo before the government limits it or taxes it out of reach.

Interesting. The police say "It is too early to say whether this has something to do with what happens elsewhere." but "The Foreign Ministry believes that the attack was related to anger over Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip." Somebody didn’t read their script.

I don’t even need to know the population of Denmark, the number of guns in Denmark, or the number of Israelis working in Denmark to call BS on this.

It’s as believable as claiming John Wilkes Booth was angry about the play, and Lincoln just happened to be in the audience.
