"Don’t get stuck on stupid, reporters."
Posted by: McQ on Wednesday, September 21, 2005

Words spoken by LTG Russel Honore to reporters who he apparently felt weren't doing their part of the job in preparing for Hurricane Rita.

Read the whole interview over at Radio Blogger. It'll make your day.

There's something to be said for a no nonsense military type in times like this. Diplomacy? That's for ... well, you know.

UPDATE [Jon Henke]—The Political Teen has the video.

Man, I want to hire him for my next company wide meeting.

I prefer a straight answer, even if it rubs me the wrong way, over a wishy-washy pile of bullshit anyday.

Hence why I’m not invited to many meetings. Apparently managers & directors get very uncomfortable when you tell a VP his idea is useless.

This dressing down of the press was long overdue.

I imagined that they hated the notion of a military guy telling them, THE PRESS, what their role in society is.

"Get the story staight and get it out clearly." How revolutionary!

This line alone will cause defense spending to increase by another 12% in the next budget.

Alternatively...the media could start asking intelligent questions...

The former’s more likely...*sigh*

Honore did a good job on keeping focus on the real and present problem, I agree.

You’ve got this feeling down
Deep in your soul
That you just can’t lose
Guess, you’re on your way
Needed a Republican
but the way you feel now I guess
you’ll be with us till the end
Guess you’re on your way
Mighty glad you stayed
You’re stuck on stupid
Been a fool too long I guess
It’s time for you to come on home
Guess you’re on your way
