There’s a rumor that Harry Whittington was overheard telling an aide that he was in support of Congressional hearings into the NSA domestic spying program while on the hunting trip.
Coincident? |

And when the lefties lose their minds with this, as they surely will, let’s gently remind them that Cheney at least had the good taste to have his people dial 911. |

Just another reminder of the GOP big applause line that the Arabs hate us because we are free. Cheney is a prime example that the Arabs hate us because of what we do with that freedom.

"Utterly unimportant?" I guess that’s why it wasn’t reported for 24 hours. And no one had to dial 911; the news teaches us that chickenhawks keep an ambulance on hand 24/7. Still, when you’re driven in a car up to the barrel to shoot fish, and miss, doesn’t that teach you anything? No, I guess not. |

If you are a hunter, or know a hunter, you know that Cheney messed up.
All else is merely spin.

kind words from mkultra (or relatively so) must not be all bad ;)
When I first heard about this I guessed that they were bird hunting. And given the circumstances relayed, there were 2 parties at fault. Whittington for not sounding his approach. And Cheney for not seeing Whittington.
As to having an ambulance on stand-by, he is the VP after all. I would guess he has an ambulance on standby where ever he goes. And I would bet that the President does to. |

Having been on both the right and wrong ends of the barrel during bird hunts... Yeah, I’ll go with he messed up, and so did the other guy.
I have to admit though, I’m wondering how the secret service lets some other old guy, presumably armed with a shotgun too, wander up on the VP’s flank without someone ’knowing’ he’s there.
Not trying to start a conspiracy, just puzzled by the ’official’ story... Some place some agents on a secret service detail are probably wondering what their next assignment will be.....maybe "Guarding Tess"? |

"And of course it took more than 24 hours for the incident to be reported to the press."
I’m sure this is something that really set them off. What a lost opportunity, not being able to say "We interrupt this broadcast to bring you breaking news... Vice President Dick Cheney has just involved in a shooting; sources tell us it may have been an attempted murder-suicide caused by a love affair gone bad. The alledged victim, Harry Whittington, has close ties to Halliburton, a corporation once headed by Cheney and recently involved in alledged wrongdoing in what some call the quagmire of Iraq. We go live, now, to Howard Dean for more...". |

Again, the VEEP can jab Kerry for lack of hunting experience,The Senator was wearing a new camouflage jacket for the occasion. Which made me wonder just how often he goes goose hunting. I’ll bet the junior Sen. from Mass. has never bagged a lawyer. I wonder if Cheney had acquired a tag from the game warden? Which reminds me,… Is it lawyer hunting season already?
I guess I have to get my ambulance decoy out of storage. Now where did I put that thing? |

As you know up here in Canada we welcome draft dodgers like Mr. Cheney. Not as well known however is the fact that we never give them guns! |

This is too much fun…
Can you picture The Vice President in a Pulp Fiction setting… The Big Dick with greased black jerry curls…The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. AND YOU WILL KNOW MY NAME IS DICK CHENEY WHEN I LAY MY VENGEANCE UPON THEE. Okay, I’ll stop now. :) |

I’ll bet the junior Sen. from Mass. has never bagged a lawyer. I wonder if Cheney had acquired a tag from the game warden? No need for a tag. Lawyers are considered varmints. Open season every day of the year, with no bag or possession limits. |

""It was accidental, a hunting accident," Sheriff Ramon Salinas III of Kenedy County told The New York Times, adding that the Secret Service notified him Saturday of the episode. "They did what they had to according to law.""
from the Editor and Publisher story on it. So they notified the police when it happened on Sat. Where is the wrong doing? That they didnt have a press conference to immediately tell the New York Times? |
