One has to wonder if this wasn’t more along the lines of a club or gang than a serious terrorism threat (at least at this time). But time will tell on that one, the documents seized having been sealed. I suspect this will turn out to be the case. Much like social misfits began wearing Trenchcoats, as a sort of counter-cultural statement after the Columbine shootings. Instead of mimicking school-shooters, or neo-nazis, they probably picked Islamic terrorists. |

Radicalizing them? Perhaps by talking about "crusades" while kidnapping and torturing people?
Sigh. The Administration is completely insane. |

Sigh. The Administration is completely insane. Yup. Terrorism started the day Bushhitler took office! Before that we never heard a peep from the radicalized muslims... |

But the real threat comes more from their potential to attract actual terrorist recruiters and operatives who, if they grab them early enough, wouldn’t have allowed the obvious signs and activities these 7 displayed to draw that unwanted attention. They wouldn’t have been wearing "turbans", trying to recruit in their neighborhood and most likely, their neighbors wouldn’t even know they were muslims. The homegrown Jihadi can do enormous damage. Madrid. London. John Mohammed and bin Laden fan "Sniper Boy Malvo". They are the "real threat" just as much as ME Islamoids are. The Canadian homegrowns were far more discrete, judging from the chorus of "I’m shocked. Mustafa was such a nice good young Muslim neighbor!" from oblivious Canadian multi-cultis. So were the Islamoids in London and Madrid, who still did the low profile approach despite lack of Al Qaeda tutelage.
The world that we should be learning is "Takfiri" which is the radical Muslim, a Salafi or Wahabbi, who seeks to assimilate and deceive in his majority infidel country he was born in or immigrated to - while hoping opportunity knocks for some serious infidel killing in their new countries. Al Qaeda is just one of 80 violent and organized groups. The Takfiris arise independent of Al Qaeda - only tangentially inspired by such noble infidel-whackers. Most follow Internet and publication guidance on not unduly alarming the Sons of Pigs and Monkeys - it appears this Miami nest of traitors and illegal aliens on Jihad was just too stupid to.
As an aside, you may notice the frequent dating or marrying by Muslim men of infidel women. As Islam is "mostly moderate" - one might logically ask why it is all but unheard of for a Muslim women to date or marry an infidel? The answer is that it is forbidden. It is one thing for Muslim men to satiate themselves on available infidel sluts and even marry them with an idea of both converting them and using their breeder role in Islam to devote their wombs to creating more Muslims and stopping any new infidel enemy from being created. But if any "pure" woman is lost to an infidel relationship - she loses her honor, destroys her whole family’s honor - as she has committed one of the gravest offenses in the Quran - and if sex has happened, honor killing of the Muslim woman and, if possible, the infidel that seeks to steal the womb reserved for new Believers of Allah is sanctioned. And is what has been done repeatedly in Europe, a few cases in Canada.

Side comment here — I think a lot of the people (maybe even the majority) you might find wearing turbans in the US or Canada are more likely to be Sikh than Muslim. Which is ironic (given the historic animosity between Sikhs and Muslim) and might be funny if it weren’t potentially serious [ Just after 911, a Sikh gas station attendant in Texas was shot by someone mistaking him for a muslim]
I have to agree that even amateurs can do great harm. One lone lunatic in Korea killed nearly 200 people in the subway with some sort of home bade fire bomb. |

So many word definitions have become truncated today.
The weird idea that an "amateur" at anything at all is somehow less in stature than a "professional" would be is yet another example of that.
Amateur — from the French, meaning, literally, "Love of the craft."
A professional is merely someone who got paid to do the job and does not necessarily imply any sort of expertise at that job at all. It does imply perhaps a 9 to 5 mindset plus the distinct possiblity of far less interest in doing the job than someone who "loves the craft".
Galileo was an amateur astronomer, James Clerk Maxwell an amateur auto-didactic mathemetician, Albert Einstein was also an amateur mathemetician, cellphone technology was invented by Amateur Radio Operators, history is littered with the examples of amateurs surpassing the paradigms of the professionals.
A group of "amateur" terrorists, would-be or otherwise, loving the craft so much that they are 24/7 living, eating, sleeping and dreaming it should scare you — they are far more likely to start thinking outside of the box.

Once upon a time, some professional Mossad spies were identified in Europe due to their behavior. The pros don’t always get it right, and amateurs can be damn dangerous. Some of our biggest mass murders were done by amateurs.
And who would have thought a small group of guys with box cutters could be so dangerous. |

Sigh. The Administration is completely insane. What’s insane is thinking that American or Hatian blacks should give a rat’s ass about the Crusades or what the left thinks is "torture" in Iraq. |

Here in Canada, our Mounties needed a terrorist bust, but couldn’t find any terrorists. This was no great problem for the enterprising constables, who just located a bunch of young guys (some of whom were teenagers) who fantasised about being terrorists. Then an undercover constable approached them, caught them on tape spinning wild fantasies about beheading the prime minister and storming parliament, and conned them into accepting a huge load of fake fertilizer. Then the police busted them out, and held a press conference to the effect that they had foiled a terrorist bomb plot.
Our Canadian legal system allows liberal use of media blackouts of court proceedings, so now even the indictments cannot be made public. The suspects are being held in solitary confinement, and are not allowed to speak to their lawyers in private. When the suspects were brought to court for their arraignments, they were guarded as if they were Saddam Hussein and the ghosts of Adolph Eichmann and John Dillinger. The younger ones (at least one suspect is fifteen) are being pressured to make statements against the others. Keep in mind that these are guys who have already shown a tendency to concoct wild tales, and you can imagine what nonsense some of them are telling prosecutors.
This is all just a big dog and pony show by the police. Unfortunately, it’s going to take about two years to sort it all out. By the time the charges are finally dismissed, no one will even remember what happened. |

Oh, right Ian. Canada as the land of multiculi love and bliss, ruined only by serpent cops straying into the Garden of Eden bent on turning peaceful Muslim Canadian youth to violence.
PS. next time if you want, you can use that Garden of Eden metaphor if you want safely and without fear of offending your newest Canadians. They accept that part of the Bible, and will not cut off your head for saying it in public.
Might I suggest you join Chistian Peacemakers and go to the Sunni Triangle ASAP and counsel other Muslim youth who "fantasize" about being terrorists? |

Turbans are worn by sikhs. Arabs wear gutras (looks like a teatowel, wraps around the head loosely or is drawn tight to cover the nose and mouth). |
