We’ve lost a true American then...

Yeah, the Gunner’s Guru column is usually pretty great. I would have loved to have attended Gunsite Academy while he was teaching. Elmer Keith, Skeeter Skelton, Col. Cooper - I hope someone emerges with that type of innovative thought and writing ability during my lifetime. |

He was a key devoloper of the modern technique of combat pistol shooting. When he started law enforcement used the single-handed "squat" point shooting method. Two handed Weaver stance and aimed shooting were major parts of the modern technique. He was also key in devloping IPSC and the scout rifle concept.

i have feared about this day, hoping it wouldnt happen for a long time. he was one of the greatest gun writers that ever lived. he pulled no punches and was relentless in his criticism, but he knew what he was talking about. i am paying my respects to jeff cooper, the greatest handgunner that ever lived. |

I think what some found "objectionable" was his refusal to sit on the sidelines and remain silent. While some may cry out that he was offensive, the reality is he was very offensive to those who would pander to laziness, sedition and liberty. His to advice to all likeminded will forever hold true: "watch your six". |
