After leaving the firm, he kept about half of his net worth in Fortress funds. And Fortress employees have collectively made up the largest class of political contributors to Mr. Edwards. and my favorite:The former senator from North Carolina said he had asked Fortress officials whether it was involved in predatory lending practices before taking the job in 2005 and was assured it was not. Edwards: “Are you preditory lenders?”
Folks from Fortress: “You bet yer sweet, sweet ass we are. Look! *points* Piles of money!”
E: *zones out, comes around* “I’m sorry, I seem to have been distracted by a large amount of lovely, life-giving money. *rubs a handful of hundred dollar bills over his face and neck* Did you say something?”
FfF: “Nope. Didn’t say a thing…” |

A bit like attacking Hillary Clinton taking funds from a Rupert Murdoch corporation and then finding out that Edwards had made hundreds of thousands of dollars through the same organization. When he was caught, Edwards claimed that every penny of that money went to charity. It was later dicovered that $300,000 of it went to his daughter and one of his campaign operatives. |

When he was caught, Edwards claimed that every penny of that money went to charity. It was later dicovered that $300,000 of it went to his daughter and one of his campaign operatives. Actually, he said every penny of the money he recieved.
That $300,000 was paid directly to his daughter and the aide.
He’s a lawyer. Technically he did not lie. The second I saw the words "that I recieved", I knew there’d be money paid directly to others. |

Senator Edwards maxes out my BS detector regularly. I don’t think that I can vote for such a person to be President. Hillary, for example, rates on the scale of 0 - 10, in the five area; just about average for a politician. With her handicaps going in [Bill] if she can succeed in getting the nomination and running a good campaign, she may just be the type of person who would make an excellent President. Sort of "send a thief to catch a thief" if you know what I mean.
Of course, as a neo-libertarian, electing a President under our current process is like selecting which great white shark you want in the pool when you go swimming. |

What could be funnier than a guy who made 94 bajillion dollars as a trial lawyer attacking Hillary for having appeared on Fortune magazine? Seriously, are he and Obama secretly working for Clinton? |
