You forget something though: blacks, by definition (according to Sharpton and Jackson) cannot be racist. |

The thing is, most blacks (oooh, not gonna be PC!) seem to prefer it the "Rev" Poindexters way.
Which is ironic, because most white racists also prefer it that way. There is absolutely nothing that any other race or outside force can do to blacks in this country that is nearly as hurtful and hobbling as what they do to themselves.
Black America’s problem stopped being the white man long ago |

Is Cohen Jewish?
Something slowly rising in my awareness in the past several years now has been an astounding strain of anti-Semitism in many black people. Completely ignorant of the particulars of this case, I’d still go about 3-to-1 that there is a heaping spoonful of that at the bottom of it.
This is appalling. |

The same thing happened in Brooklyn when a Jewish guy ran in a historically black district. Sharpton had a coniption calling him, I am not making this up, a colonizer, he eventually lost in a four way race to a black candidate. |

Billy I think it’s kind of endemic to Progressives, anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism. Much of Critical Theory, that revolves around race, really is conspiratorial and Jews, for some insrutable reason really are the butt of so many conspiracies.... |

Is Cohen Jewish? Yes, that was mentioned in the article. I hadn’t really thought of it as one of the contributing factors, but that’s certainly a possibility. |

Nobody half-awake could have missed Jesse Jackson’s "Hymietown" crack all those years ago, and I’m aware of this whole angle on the left, generally. However, a great deal of my work takes place around black folx — I am always in a very distinct racial minority out there — and while the people who I actually run with are actually superbly rational and squared-away on such matters, it has been revelatory to observe very common anti-Semitism among black people at the everyday street level, for some time now. It’s a real worry. |

I think it comes with the territory of being Jewish...I can find Baptists, Methodists, Blacks, Whites that are suspicious of the Jews. For the life of me I can’t figure out why, EXCEPT there have always been conspiracies about the Jews and so it’s easier to distrust them than some other group. I mean why hate Ethiopians when you have the Protocols of the Elders of Zion? With the Protocols you have your reason right there, you don’t have to manufacture something like you would with the Ethiopians. |

"I think it comes with the territory of being Jewish..." Everything I’ve seen in the past fifteen years or so tells me that this particular black/Jewish dynamic is fairly recent in American history. Don’t misunderstand: I’m aware of things like the Nation of Islam before Farrakhan, cross-currents between the Panthers and the Left, and all kinds of stuff like that. But there is a pulse out there in the ’hoods now that I never saw even back in ’88 when I was on the road with 2 Live Crew.
This pace is picking up. |

This pace is picking up. I was just making the point that there is a constant Base State level of anti-Semitism, which is greater that the Base State of Anti-Catholicism. But it does seem to be growing and that is scary. |

"I was just making the point that there is a constant Base State level of anti-Semitism,..." Is that supposed to be news? For Christ’s sake, man, it’s been like that since before black people and Jews set foot on the same continent with each other. |

on the troubles of Congressman Steve Cohen in Memphis. Cohen won the race to succeed Harold Ford, Jr. when Ford ran for the Senate last year. So Cohen was elected in a heavily black district. Sounds like Rev. Collin’s may have some supporters. I’ve had difficulty understanding the animus that many blacks have for the Jews. The Jews were one of the strongest supporters of civil rights in the 60"s. Their principled stand on affirmative may have cost them some support. |

So Cohen was elected in a heavily black district. He won the Democratic primary with only a plurality, because there were three other candidates, all black. Winning the primary basically meant winning the election. I don’t think a resurrected Abraham Lincoln could win a Congressional race as a Republican in Memphis. |

I mean why hate Ethiopians when you have the Protocols of the Elders of Zion? Ironically it is quite possible to do both. |
