"I am in this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over. I have done more than any other candidate in this race to take on lobbyists - and won. They have not funded my campaign, they will not run my White House, and they will not drown out the voices of the American people when I am president."
- Barack Obama, Speech in Des Moines, IA, November 10, 2007 "They (lobbyists) have not funded my campaign..." This, I take it, was a dig at Mccain...and...
"...they will not run my White House..." This I take it was a dig at Clinton...and...
"...they will not drown out the voices of the American people when I am president...." This, I take it, was a dig at...
Wait, aren’t lobbyists supposed to be the VOICE of the American People? Does he really intend to wipe out this particular incarnation of the Voice of the American People?
If not, then Barack must mean "corporate" lobbyists for a Foreign Power using the system to manipulate the choices and drown out the voices of the American People.
Is Barack saying that he knows of lobbyists that actually have the power to do this and that when he is President he will stop them?
Can he name two?
Stupid American Politicians: 200 years of politics and they still need a grandma-trashing, lobbyist-hating Johnnie-come-lately to tell them they’ve been had! |
