Sorry, Your Holiness, but your wife kicked herself into play. I can’t say I’m surprised, because Obama seems to think that any subject on which he can be criticized is off-limits, simply because it is damaging to him. |

If McCain’s wife campaigns for him, what she says will also be fair game.
So maybe Sen. Jesus should stop being such a whining punk or tell his (inexplicably) angry wife to STFU for awhile |

From here on out, any criticism will be called an attack.
That way we can talk about the person making the claim and whether its fair to make the claim as opposed to the claim itself and what it says about Obama.
Not surprised. I am surprised they just threw that out there and not save it for an actual Michelle Moment.
Unless this was part of that ’video of Michelle at a Wright protest something or other’ thing which, unless I actually see the video, sound more and more like it was bait. |

The Obamessiah may be aware of the rumors that the Hillary camp has video of Mrs. O in a hate-whitey rant at Rev. Wright’s church, and is doing some pre-emptive damage control. I’ve seen some speculation that Hillary has been hanging in as long as she has because the Clintonistas have something seen as really damaging to the O’s and have been waiting for the moment of maximum potatential damage (probably during or immediately before the convention) to leak it.
Even if the rumor about the videotape of Mrs. O is untrue, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Clinton "plumbers" squad were working overtime on nailing down some damaging dirt and relaying word back to HQ, "Tell her to keep running—we should have something any day now." |

Good point. Could this actually be an attempt to minimize the impact of what they know is waiting to come out? Or, they could be counting on creating a ’fake but true’ moment in Obama’s favor. Dan Rather’s fake but true memos shutdown all AWOL talk for the rest of the election.
I just don’t see the sense to leaking that there is a video and not leaking the video itself. The only explanation is that the video will not live up to the hype.

Dance and piano lessons are very important. Really human rights gosh darn it. And one of the first things that Obama will do, with the help of a Democratic Congress, is pass a comprehensive national dance and piano plan to make lessons available to all Americans, not just the wealthy few!
He’ll call on the United States to "lead by example" and develop new dance steps at home to be exported to developing countries instead of waiting for the next Macrana to appear on our doorstep, and we’ll teach ALL Americans to play the piano. Then, armed with this new knowledge, they’ll be able to help developing countries learn these skill too. But it’s foolish to think we can just keep dancing and playing piano here in the US all we want and the rest of the world is just going to say "OK".
That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen.

Or maybe he think he’s Michael Corleone in Godfather II.Senator Geary: Because I intend to squeeze you. I don’t like your kind of people. I don’t like to see you come out to this clean country in oily hair and dressed up in those silk suits, and try to pass yourselves off as decent Americans. I’ll do business with you but the fact is that I despise your masquerade, the dishonest way you pose yourself. Yourself and your whole f—king family. Michael Corleone: Senator, we’re both part of the same hypocrisy. But never think it applies to my family. |

Oh right—they are leftists. They can solve everthing by talking, feeling, emoting . . . Close to the mark. But there’s more. I hate to harp on this, but the post-modernist foundation of today’s left means they believe they, and only they, possess the right to determine the terms of the debate. Because they do not believe in basic Enlightenment principles, and their ideological opponents do, then they require the rest of us to hew to their definitions in order to discuss issues.
They deny basic logic and argument principles in favor of, as you say, emotion. Whatever someone feels is right must, by definition, be right, at least for that person. And no one else, particularly someone who does not belong to the church of post-modernism, has the right to tell them they are wrong.
Contradiction doesn’t matter, because in post-modernism, there’s no such thing as contradiction. There are merely different viewpoints from different people, and as long as someone subscribes to post-modernist thought, any of the different viewpoints is considered valid. However, if one does not subscribe to post-modernism, then one’s point of view is automatically invalid, and can be dismissed with a wave of the hand, as Obama tries to do constantly. In every speech he makes and every press conference he gives, he exposes himself as having a worldview that is completely based in post-modern claptrap. |

Unless Michelle Obama was also an adulterous drug addict who robbed her own charity and helped fund Sudanese death squads, I really fail to understand why John McCain would celebrate making the wives fair game. |

August — (1) John McCain is not "celebrating making the wives fair game." (2) If Michelle Obama is going to campaign aggressively on behalf of her husband and make strong comments about America and her husband’s critics, why shouldn’t she be fair game?
Michelle Obama is representing Obama. If Obama doesn’t want her words used against her, she should be more careful of what she says or stop making campaign speeches. |

Those things don’t seem the same to me. The drug business happened in the early nineties and not as part of campaigning for her husband. Nor do I see it mandatory for a candidate’s spouse to release tax records during a campaign unless he or she promised to do so.
Cindy McCain aside, do you really believe that Michelle Obama should be exempt from criticism for whatever she says while campaigning for her husband? |

Stanley Kurtz (who is an absolute ace when it comes to cornering a subject) continues his work on the Obama-Wright relationship.
Kurtz is not a popularizer. He is more of a scholar who provides background.
He also has an article on James Cone ("black theology") in the current issue of National Review, which is only available with a subscription. (I dumped mine a while back, so I haven’t seen it yet.) |

Not unlike BDS, you can’t create MDS without some degree of a double standard. I’ve long said the potential successor to BDS is RPADS - Republican Presidential Administration Derangement Syndrome. I fear that at this point, there is a contingent on the left that will deny the legitimacy, intelligence, character, and good faith of anyone elected on a Republican ticket. |

Those things don’t seem the same to me. Yeah. One thing about it: the fact that you cheat on your spouse, steal, and do drugs doesn’t necessarly mean anything about your spouse. But if you have radical anti-American beliefs, I don’t see how you could have a relationship with a spouse who loves America.
The fact that Obama’s spouse, preacher, friend, and blogger all seem to hate America is telling. |
