Posted by: McQ on Saturday, July 12, 2008 My condolences to his family. I had the opportunity to listen in on a couple of blogger calls with Tony and ask him a few questions. Bloggers aren't journalists steeped in the culture of nuance, and they can get pretty blunt. Tony was a gentleman who fielded every question and answered it without all the usual sidestepping spokesman do. He was what Scott McClellan could only hope to be - a bright guy who loved the give-and-take of debate and believed in his side's principles and ideology. Another thing I admired about Snow was his attitude about the cancer he had. If ever there was a man determined to beat it and upbeat about his chances, he was that man. Of course death overcame even him, as it always does, but I'm sure, knowing what little I know about Tony Snow, he went down swinging. RIP |
