Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, has been indicted on seven "charges related to (his) holding of public office," two federal government sources told FOX News on Tuesday.

The Department of Justice has announced a 1:20 p.m. ET press conference that a release says is "regarding a criminal matter."

In case you've forgotten who he is, think "bridge to nowhere", one of his more visible attempts at misusing his public office. The same guy who literally threw a hissy fit about the possibility of funding for the bridge being withdrawn. The primary reason for his indictment, however, can be found here.

Frankly, we need to see a few more of these arrogant yahoos who abuse their power and the intent of their office to be frog marched off to jail. And Stevens will be a nice start.
