Since the speech was intended for the freindly crowd within the confines of the convention center, and since the Democrats as a rule couldn’t care less about things military, how much of an effect on the election will that foul-up, and what it reveals, have? None at all seems likely.

I don’t know...would we be willing to cut him slack if he’d said DIVISONS instead? Imagine the outcry if Obama actually said he wanted to put 2 divisions in Afghanistan (Imagine the Soviet Russian reaction).
They’re supposed to be experts, they’re going to be in command of these forces.
George Bush can screw up a sentence and there’s no more ’just a gaffe’ forgiveness.
I started out in a forgiving mood on this, but ya know, they don’t forgive, why should I?
Far as I’m concerned, it’s now up there with
1) being in St. Louis,
2) 10,000 dead in the tornado
3) 57 states
When Bush does it, it’s because he’s supposedly got an IQ just north of a block of cheese, when these two eloquent Democratic speakers do it, it’s a gaffe. |

I just thing there are better things to attack/compare and contrast both Obama and Biden.
Heck, compare and contrast just those two in the realm of experience, and you’ve got an issue that could gain traction.
But other then a succinct chuckle, this isn’t the type of thing the election is going to be won or lost over. |

If this lost them the election I wouldn’t want to live here because it would indicate we, collectively, had IQ’s just south of George Bush’s reputed IQ.
