Here are today’s statistics on the state of the economy:

The Dallas Fed Manufacturing Survey slipped more than 3 points to a still-positive 2.2. The production component fell sharply from 12.9 to 6.2.

The Chicago Fed National Activity Index fell into negative territory at -0.32. The 3-month average, however, rose to 0.30.
